From February 15 to 16, the 2nd Member Representative Congress of the Nuclear Power Structure Branch of China Steel Construction Society was successfully held at Harbin Engineering University. Hosted by the Nuclear Power Structure Branch of China Steel Construction Society and co-organized by the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering of Harbin Engineering University, the conference gathered more than 60 experts and scholars from 35 governing units, including the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Central Research Institute of Building and Construction Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., China General Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., China Academy of Building Research, Suzhou Nuclear Power Research Institute Co., Ltd., Hualong International Nuclear Power Technology Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Industry No. 22 Construction Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Industry No. 23 Construction Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Industry No. 24 Construction Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Industry Huaxing Construction Co., Ltd., China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Ltd., Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Harbin Engineering University. The meeting was presided over by Changhe Dai, Deputy Secretary-General of China Steel Construction Society. Yi Liu, Executive Vice President of China Steel Construction Society, attended and participated in relevant agendas.

Jize Mao, Dean of the College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering ofHarbin Engineering University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, extending a warm welcome to all experts, scholars and industry representatives. He emphasized that Harbin Engineering University has always followed the national development strategy, relied on its scientific research advantages in the "Three Oceans and One Nuclear" (shipbuilding industry, naval equipment, ocean development, and nuclear energy applications), continuously made innovative breakthroughs in the field of nuclear power engineering structure protection, and strived to promote the realization of national energy security and green development goals.

At the meeting,Yi Liu, Executive Vice President of China Steel Construction Society, read out the approval of the General Association on the election of a new term. Through the election at the congress, Rong Pan, Chief Engineer of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, was electedasChairman of the Nuclear Power Structure Branch of China Steel Construction Society, and Songtao Lin from Central Research Institute of Building and Construction Co., Ltd. was electedasSecretary-General of the Branch.

In the academic exchange session, LiangLifrom the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment gave a special report entitled "Review and Supervision Issues of Nuclear Power Plant Concrete-related Standards", YangLiufrom China Academy of Building Research Co., Ltd. delivered a report on "Inspection and Evaluation Standards in Construction Engineering Quality Control", and JizeMaofrom Harbin Engineering University presented a report themed "Research on Nuclear Power Engineering Structure Protection Under Extreme Conditions". Experts at the meeting conducted in-depth and enthusiastic discussions around these topics.

The successful holding of this congress fully demonstrates the industry's high attention to and support for nuclear power structure technology,laying a solid foundation for future technological innovation and industry development in this field. The College of Aerospace and Civil Engineering ofHarbin Engineering University will continue to rely on its disciplinary advantages in the "Three Oceans and One Nuclear". Adhering to a more open and innovative attitude,the college willactively promote the development of characteristic directions in nuclear power structure safety protection, and contribute wisdom and strength to the sustainable development of the national energy cause.
