To fully implement theuniversity’s "Five Persistences and Five Emphases" guidingprinciple, Harbin Engineering University held the unveiling ceremony of the first batch of interdisciplinary research centers on January 14. A total of four university-level interdisciplinary research centers were selected, among which the "Interdisciplinary Research Center for Intelligent Bionic Mechanics" of our college was included. Zhiwen Yu, member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended the meeting and personally unveiled the plaque for the interdisciplinary research center.

The most prominent feature of modern mechanics research is the increasingly extensive and in-depth intersection with other disciplines. The complexity of the involved objects is becoming more and more prominent, and a series of new problems and new fields at the forefront of science have emerged. The mechanical system is nurturing a major transformation. To seize this opportunity, we must give play to the fundamental role of the mechanics discipline, integrate with various disciplines, and foster new disciplinary growth points.

Focusing on underwater bionic unmanned vehicles, the Interdisciplinary Research Center for Intelligent Bionic Mechanics is guided by solid mechanics, dynamics and control, and integrates with materials science, fluid mechanics, acoustics, control science and other disciplines. By leveraging frontier research directions, the center promotes interdisciplinary development driven by its foundational strengths

Xinxin Yu, Secretary of the College Party Committee, attended the meeting and introduced the background of the establishment of the "Interdisciplinary Research Center for Intelligent Bionic Mechanics", the ideas for future development, as well as the college's support and assessment methods for the interdisciplinary center.
